Does anyone else find this scary?  Or am I the only one?

In case anyone is behind the curve here, Google has announced the launch of an advanced AI called GEMINI. Its capabilities will exceed those of CHATGBT.

This state of the art AI will deep dive into every aspect of word processing. It will be able to create written works of all kinds,in the blink of an eye. It will also have the ability to learn and develop from the past. Successes and failures will feed into its database and it will improve itself as it goes. Imagine that.

Will it be able to write you a love poem? Yes. A novel in any genre you care to name? Yes . Does this mean that this is the end?

Are Writers of the real and human variety going to go the way of the dinosaurs and become extinct?

Good question. - Let’s take a look at that.

Bear in mind the old adage - ‘Just because you’re paranoid; It doesn’t mean they are not out to get you.’  Let’s begin.

I hear soothing platitudes sprinkled across the ethers. AI has such potential to enhance our lives and make this world a safer place for all. They are already carrying out surgical procedures in our hospitals and clinics. Can create blog posts faster than most of us can dream them up. Now Listen Up! These guys don’t need medical or maternity leave. They don’t take sick days. Not ever. They have no use for a salary or benefits. You can see how, in some quarters, this might seem like a no-brainer of a business opportunity. Right?

Still think they're not out to get us? Really? Well, I sincerely hope the Gods are with you.

Me? I’m going to R2D2’s Writer’s Workshop on Tatooine.

That sounds like fun you say? - Yeah, I’d say. It’s the title that got me. -

‘Become an AI Writing Assistant - Give Your Writing a Future.’

Relax! I’m just messing. But OMG what if this really is the writing on the wall? What if, this is only the beginning? Or the end? Or the beginning of the end? - Holy Moly! I need to buzz my shrink!
